Simarloo muscatel clusters are the result of selecting quality fresh grapes, naturally processed and hand-trimmed to produce the iconic muscatel cluster. With a tradition dating back to the 1930's when they were successfully marketed in the UK as 'London Layers', Virgin Hills is proud to continue the tradition of producing fine quality muscatel clusters from our Virgin Hills facility in the Riverland region of South Australia. With an ever expanding market base Simarloo muscatel clusters are in high demand in Australia and international markets.
The muscatel cluster process starts by selecting the best bunches of Malaga variety grapes with tight bunches and large berries. Our close relationship with growers ensures that correct trimming and good management will produce the best quality for production.
The grapes undergo a unique process of steaming and pressing that gives the muscatel cluster its distinctive on-the-vine look. We do not use any additives or preservatives in this process and our products are 100% natural.
Muscatel bunches are hand-selected and trimmed to produce a perfect muscatel cluster - dried grapes on the vine. Single berries that result from the cluster process are graded to produce our premium berries or have the seeds removed to produce seedless muscatels.
The result is the perfect muscatel cluster, a unique artisan product that is hand-crafted and prized for its presentation and quality at any entertaining occasion.
